These matters need to be resolved with the existing formats that are set for them; they exist. Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia, on Wednesday noted this, as a response to the query regarding the exchange of captives and prisoners of war in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict zone.

“I don’t think there is a need now for me to give further political comments, since we really do have working mechanisms,” she added. “And if necessary, the [OSCE Minsk Group] co-chairs can put into use additional mechanisms to show assistance to the parties [to this conflict].”

At the same time, Zakharova added that if the relevant parties need additional assistance, it can be discussed in a bilateral format and through diplomatic channels.
