YEREVAN. – Yes, I received bonuses. Lilit Makunts, head of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, stated this at the November 25 press conference in the NA, adding that at the moment she cannot say how much it has made up, and she suggested sending the question in writing to provide clear numbers.
In addition to Makunts' remarks, Edmon Marukyan, head of the opposition Bright Armenia faction in parliament, said that Armenia was living in an absurd period in terms of salaries, when the ruling faction leader receives 460,000 drams per month, whereas the minister they appointed - 1.5 million drams.
"It is an absurdity that the scale of the political system has simply been violated, in violation of the law; this is a serious systemic problem; this has taken place as a result of bypassing the parliament,” said Marukyan. “Thirty percent bonuses are foreseen in all state systems. We have suggested that the 30% specified by the budget should not be a bonus, but that everyone's salary be increased in that amount so that no leader has the choice to give someone and not give someone.”
