Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov has declared that the West has to kick the habits of the previous centuries when it would dictate its will to other countries, reports TASS.

“The best way to put an end to this abnormal situation is to stop being imperial, kick the habits of the past and refused to dictate one’s own will and be the judge for everyone and everything,” he said.

Lavrov reminded that the events in Ukraine were the pretext for setting sanctions against Russia. “They tell us to implement the Minsk agreements and they will gladly annul the sanctions, but Russia can’t implement those agreements since it isn’t even mentioned in those agreements,” the Russian foreign minister stated.

He said Washington has been working with countries of Central Asia and convincing them to refuse to work with Moscow for a long time already and added that, like any other region, Central Asia also shouldn’t serve as a platform for the resistance of big countries.
