At a meeting of the political council of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party in Azerbaijan, an initiative was put forward to hold early elections in the Milli Majlis, haqqin.az reported.

At the meeting the parliamentary majority recognized the decision to dissolve the Milli Majlis as appropriate.

This decision is explained by the fact that the current composition of the Milli Majlis does not comply with the policies pursued by the head of state, and in fact has remained aloof from the ongoing reforms in the country.

Tomorrow the issue of dissolving the parliament will be raised at a meeting of the Milli Majlis. An appeal will also be made to the president of the country on the appointment of early elections.
