Russia is exploring the issue regarding Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan’s visit next year, but the timeframes are still not clear. This is what Spokesperson of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik-Armenia.

“Russia is considering the visit, but there are no approximate dates,” Peskov said, adding that the visit might be agreed very quickly and that there are no problems with this.

Peskov stated that the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Russia interact often, adding that friendly relations are what link Putin to former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. “There is one thing I can say. During his visit [to Yerevan-ed.], Putin met with the wife of the second President [Kocharyan-ed]. They maintain friendly ties. You know that Putin and the second President are linked by friendly ties,” he said.

Peskov didn’t comment on Kocharyan’s arrest. He stated that a long time has passed since shift of power in Armenia and that the gap in the relations between Russia and Armenia has been filled.
