European member states in the current conditions have no reason to launch a mechanism for resolving disputes over a nuclear deal, which could restore UN sanctions against Iran, said official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi.

According to him, the nuclear deal does not give European countries any reason to launch this mechanism in response to Iran’s legitimate right to respond to US unilateral actions, TASS reported.

His remarks came after the statement by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian that Paris was ready to launch a dispute settlement mechanism under the Iranian nuclear deal.

Mousavi called the words of the French FM irresponsible and unconstructive. 

According to him, such statements undermine the political effectiveness of efforts to fully implement the nuclear deal by all its parties.
