Ex-police chief of Yerevan Ashot Karapetyan had been interviewed as a witness under the case of the events of March 1, 2008. This is what Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan told journalists today.

When asked if the deaths of Ashot Karapetyan and former police chief of Armenia Hayk Harutyunyan could be linked to the case of the events of March 1, 2008, Davtyan said the following: “In the language of criminal procedure, they are referred to as hypotheses. There are always such hypotheses, and compulsory operations are conducted to verify them. However, I don’t have even one piece of factual data regarding the death of those individuals. I will verify all the hypotheses.”

As reported earlier, former chief of the police of Yerevan Ashot Karapetyan died during a gas explosion in a private beer factory in Pyatigorsk.
