YEREVAN. – I will continue to present facts, identifying both corruption-related transactions and criminal code-envisioned actions being carried out in the municipality, including by the mayor. Davit Khajakyan, the head of the opposition Luys faction at the Yerevan Council of Elders, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am referring to the fact that Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the opposition Bright Armenia party and the head of its parliamentary faction, stated that they are discussing the issue of recalling Khajakyan from the council.

"We discussed that viewpoint last night and today, of course," Khajakyan said. “Mr. Marukyan expresses the viewpoint of the faction members, including me.

I have had many discussions with [the other two Luys faction members] Ani Khachatryan and Tehmina Vardanyan that one should not go into the field of personal insults during any discussion or session. Khajakyan reminded that only he represents the Bright Armenia party at the Luys faction, but the party is accountable for the whole faction.

Asked if the decision to call him back during this time was right, Khajakyan said: “I will continue to present facts, identifying both corruption-related transactions and criminal code-envisioned actions being carried out in the municipality, including by the mayor. But I have to do it in a format that can be heard and reach people. I cannot afford that luxury and not continue my work to make my revelations about the mayor's work. "

Davit Khajakyan stressed that Bright Armenia has not yet made a final decision. "The real meaning is to make all these revelations and facts be heard without personal insults," he added, in particular.

As reported earlier, Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the opposition Bright Armenia party and the head of its parliamentary faction, wrote on his Facebook page that the Bright Armenia party was discussing the matter of recalling its only member in the Yerevan Council of Elders, Davit Khajakyan, and the expediency of the continuation of his activities in the council. Later, Marukyan noted that the reason is that they have no influence on the Luys faction, which has three members, of which only Khajakyan is from the Bright Armenia party, whereas the other two members—Ani Khachatryan and Tehmina Vardanyan—are from the Republic party.
