YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Zhoghovurd daily has learned that members of the RF Federal Assembly Federation Council’s Committee on International Affairs will meet with members of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations in Yerevan today. According to our information, the Armenian MPs are going to raise a number of issues to their Russian counterparts.

Recently, there was a great uproar on the case of the Russian writer Alexander Griboyedov's statue [in Yerevan] being painted red in response to the painting of the memorial plaque of Garegin Nzhdeh by deputy Aleksey Vinogradov of the city duma of the Russian city of Armavir. However, in a conversation with Zhoghovurd daily, member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sos Avetisyan stated that this topic has long been closed. "I do not think there will be further discussions on the painting of the statue because, in reality, it was not a good action, and it has already been announced that this act is unacceptable for us," he said.
