Demonstrators took to the streets in New York City on Tuesday evening, calling for impeachment against US President Donald Trump and suspension of his powers ahead of the House of Representatives vote for impeachment, Reuters reported.

The organizers said they expect thousands of people to take part in stocks in Manhattan.

Demonstrators who were gathered in Times Square chanted slogans like “Impeach Trump” and held signs that read: “Trump is not above the law” and “Rise and resist.”

The House will vote on impeachment against the US president on Wednesday. The Chamber is expected to decide in favor of impeachment and refer the matter to the Senate.
