The US House of Representatives voted in favor of President Donald Trump's impeachment under two articles: exceeding powers and obstructing Congress, RIA Novosti reports.
The results were split by party affiliation, with the Democratic majority voting for the impeachment and the Republicans against. Under to the first article of impeachment, 230 people voted for and 197 against.
Under the second article, 229 deputies voted for and 198 against.
Now the Senate will investigate the case. But the Republican majority in the upper house does not intend to impeach Trump.
