The expectations of the population of Armenia haven’t been met after the so-called revolutionary changes. This is what leader of the For Social Justice Party Arman Ghukasyan told journalists today.

He stated that the division of deputies within the My Step Alliance was revealed immediately after the parliamentary elections and that it is not always that one can expect transparency and predictability of actions or effectiveness from such a political team.

Ghukasyan declared that right after the parliamentary elections it became clear that the super prime-ministerial system for decision-making continued to be in effect in Armenia and that this was expressed by the fact that the members of the ruling alliance of the National Assembly were deprived of the opportunity to act freely.

In her turn, vice-president of the political party Tsovinar Kostanyan reminded that, within the framework of the war declared against corruption, the National Assembly adopted the law on forfeiture of illegally acquired assets and was going to make amendments to the law on bank secret.

“These amendments will allow law-enforcement authorities to obtain bank information of people not involved in criminal cases. All this entails questions when the authorities’ desire is to relieve themselves of undesired judges and exerting pressure on the political opposition,” she added.
