When Private Sh. S. A. was transferred to the military unit under the subordination of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, he took advantage of the situation and escaped. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page today.

He particularly wrote the following:

“Private Sh. S. A. had been sentenced twice before being drafted to the army. During his military service, a criminal case was instituted in relation to a crime committed before he was drafted, and during the preliminary investigation, he was arrested, and there was a preventive measure for him for a year. After the preventive measure was changed based on the requirement of the law a year later, he was transferred to the military unit operating under the subordination of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, and he took advantage of the situation and escaped.”

As reported earlier, about 15 days ago, a soldier voluntarily left the special company of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, reports Factor.am. Based on the information provided by the representatives of the newspaper, the soldier is from Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province, was a witness in a case and had to be confronted within the scope of the case soon. A search has been declared for the soldier, but he still hasn’t been found. After the incident, the commander of the military unit was transferred.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan had said he had no information about the incident. Chief of the Military Police Artur Baghdasaryan had neither denied nor confirmed the information.
