The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction has granted the motion of the National Security Service to extend the period of detention of former chairman of the State Revenue Committee and ex-finance minister Gagik Khachatryan for two months, as reported the news service of the National Security Service.
Gagik Khachatryan was detained upon the decision of Judge Artush Gabrielyan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction on August 30, 2019. Khachatryan was charged with misuse of official powers that negligently caused grave consequences and squander in particularly large amounts.
The charge brought against Khachatryan is linked to the alleged crimes that he committed when he was finance minister and chairman of the State Revenue Committee.
