More than 20 activists for peace have been abducted in western Afghanistan, AP reported referring to police spokesman Mohibullah Mohib.

According to Mohib, members of the Taliban organization ambushed the Bala Buluk region in Farah province. They captured six cars of a peace convoy in which there were 26 activists.

The Taliban operating in Farah did not take responsibility for the abduction.

A police operation to search for and release activists is underway.
