YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was going to meet with the relatives of deceased conscript Artur Ajamyan. But when he learned that his relatives had closed down Tigran Mets Avenue, he went back to his office. Prime Minister’s assistant Nairi Sargsyan told about this to Ajamyan's relatives.

"You can convey all your problems and concerns only through me," Sargsyan added. "Closing the street is not the way."

In turn, Artur Ajamyan's uncle Jmo Ajamyan said: "But when it was closed during his time, why wasn’t it being forbidden?"

And the prime minister's assistant suggested that the deceased soldier’s uncle come up to his office and discuss the issue. But the soldier’s relatives flatly refused, saying that they will present their problem only to the prime minister.

On December 2, soldier Artur Ajamyan (born in 1998) sustained a fatal gunshot wound, whereas fellow serviceman Davit Melikbekyan (born in 1999) was wounded at a military unit of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with this case.

An investigation is underway.
