Representatives of the lower and upper chambers of the Argentine parliament signed a decision Friday to freeze lawmakers' salaries for half a year due to the economic crisis in the country. President of the Chamber of Deputies (lower house), Sergio Massa, informed this, TASS reports.
“The state of emergency in the economic field requires action from all segments,” he wrote on Twitter. “For this reason, we have decided to freeze the salaries and business trips of lawmakers in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate for 180 days."
Massa also attached the photo of the signed decision to the message.
