YEREVAN. – The National Security Service (NSS) has solved a case of demanding and taking a large bribe by some officials of the State Revenue Committee (SRC).

The respective statement released by the NSS says that the NSS, receiving a report of a crime from an Armenian citizen engaged in entrepreneurship, received evidence that 3 employees of the SRC's tax control inspection-department of small taxpayers, discovering 4 unregistered employees in an enterprise, demanded and took a large amount of bribe from the entrepreneur in order to avoid a fine for each unregistered employee, after which they demanded a monthly bribe for not taking proper action regarding these 4 the unregistered workers. One of these officials was detained by NSS officers.

The NSS has launched a criminal case on this apparent crime.

Another of the officials involved in this criminal conspiracy has been detained, too, and measures are taken to find a third accomplice.

An investigation is underway.
