Famous Turkish human rights advocate Eren Keskin condemned the arrest of the priest of Yakup Church in Mardin Sefer Bolicer.
“The priest is one of the very few Assyrians living in the area,” she tweeted.
Keskin added that the local Assyrians are under pressure and threats.
“They want them to leave. The ghost of 1915 is everywhere,” Keskin added.
Sefer Bolicer is charged with supporting the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
