US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed the situation in the Middle East and the role played by the NATO in a phone talk with Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu, State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement
According to her, Secretary of State Pompeo reiterated that NATO should play a more substantial role in the region, TASS reported.
He highlighted the US commitment to a peaceful settlement in Syria with UN aid.
