On February 1, 2020, Gegham Vardanyan will join the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission and will deal with internal markets, informatization and information and communication technologies. The heads of states of the Eurasian Economic Union adopted the decision during the session that the Eurasian Supreme Economic Council held in Saint Petersburg on December 20, 2019.

The new minister has experience in working within public administration bodies. He recently served as deputy minister of high-technological industry of Armenia and had held the office of deputy minister of transport, communication and information technologies prior to that. Gegham Vardanyan also has vast experience in working with large international companies such as National Instruments and YEA Engineering.
