Nearly AMD 2.5 –2.7 billion will be spent on organizing a referendum on constitutional amendmends, said chair of the Central Election Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan on Tuesday.

He noted that the deadlines are short, so it is still difficult to say whether cameras will be installed or not.

Representatives of parties, not only parliamentary ones, can be involved as observers, joining public organizations, he noted.

Asked to comment about whether the new authorities trust him and what his relations are with the Armenian PM , Nikol Pashinyan, the CEC chair noted that many elections were held, including early elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, as well as the 2018 parliamentary elections of the year.

"The CEC fulfills its powers and organizes elections in accordance with the law," the official added.

Tigran Mukuchyan noted that the law does not regulate the general procedure for dealing with violations in social networks, so each violation must be considered individually. 

A referendum on constitutional amendmends will be held in Armenia on April 5.
