YEREVAN. – The Yerevan tourist minibus drivers are protesting in front of the city hall building. They demand that they be allowed to continue to park their vehicles in the area adjacent to Republic Square.

Prior to this, they had been told that if their vehicles were not removed from Republic Square, they would be removed by tow trucks. And when a tow truck was brought in, the protesters drove their minibuses to the Yerevan Municipality building where their protest now continues.

"We are ready to pay all taxes," these drivers said, in particular. "We [just] want to work."

Edgar Galstyan, the head of the Department of Transportation of the city hall, came down to meet with them. He noted that they are now discussing where to allocate places in the city as convenient places for these tourist minibuses to park. "It's about downtown Yerevan," he added, in particular.
