The House has approved a bill for emergency funding to fight coronavirus.

Legislators have budgeted 8.3 billion dollars in this regard, Voice of America reported referring to the leader of the democratic majority in the lower house, Steny Hoyer.

The funds will be spent on the detection of the disease, the development of vaccines and test systems.

The bill, supported by both parties, is set to be sent to the Senate. The latter is expected to ratify it before the end of this week.
