The National Assembly of Armenia passed, in the first reading, the package of bills on making amendments to the law on confiscation of property of illegal origin and related laws, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from parliament.

During the respective vote, 92 MPs supported this legislative initiative, two others voted against it, whereas 18 deputies abstained from voting.

According to its authors, the purpose of this bill is to remove illegal property from economic circulation and return it to its rightful owner; and if there is no rightful owner—to the state.
