Besides the traditional pomegranate and persimmon, Artsakh will also plant a large number of kiwi seeds. This is what presidential candidate of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Arayik Harutyunyan declared in Berdashen village of Martuni region, adding that the seedlings for the first thousand hectares have already been ordered.

“During the election campaign, we visited communities in the Berdashen village of Martuni region. Berdashen has a special place in our pretentious political platform. It is truly considered one of the ‘golden’ valleys of Artsakh, and people bear the culture of working with the land that was established during the decades. This is the reason why we view the village as a major milestone for the introduction of a new irrigation system, the development of gardening and the establishment of industries for reprocessing produce. In particular, we plan to grow not only the traditional pomegranate and persimmon trees, but also kiwi trees, and we have already reached an agreement with Spayka Company, which will fully provide the produce.”
