Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan attended the event dedicated to the 61st birthday of Sparapet (Commander-in-Chief) Vazgen Sargsyan and held by the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteer Land Defenders of Armenia. The Prime Minister first paid tribute to Vazgen Sargsyan by laying flowers at the monument to him.

Nikol Pashinyan congratulated everyone on the 61st birthday of Vazgen Sargsyan and attached importance to the fact that he was expressing his congratulatory remarks at the Union of Volunteer Land Defenders since the Union is one of the most obvious expressions of the activities of Vazgen Sargsyan. “Why do we attach so much importance to and appreciate the activities of Vazgen Sargsyan as one of the organizers of the battle for liberation, as Commander-in-Chief and as the founder of the Armenian Army so much? It is because the activities of Vazgen Sargsyan as a freedom fighter was first and foremost an expression of the faith that one can have in his strengths to change the destiny of his own people and the future of the people, and I believe Vazgen Sargsyan had that faith in the early 1990s. Hundreds of thousands of other Armenians also had that faith, and it is thanks to that faith that the Armenians achieved victory in the battle for the liberation of Artsakh,” Nikol Pashinyan stated.

The head of government noted that when Armenians take a look at the destiny of the nation, they can state that most of the nation’s achievements are linked to the faith that the nation had in its strengths, past and future. Pashinyan also emphasized that it is through that faith and attribute that we Armenians must shape more victories in the future.
