Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan yesterday held consultations with President of the European Court of Human Rights Linos-Alexandre Sicilianos.

As reported the Office of the Human Rights Defender, there were also consultations with judge of the European Court of Human Rights Armen Harutyunyan.

During the meeting, the participants touched upon the practice of involving a third party in cases examined by the ECHR (introduced in 2017 at the initiative of the Human Rights Defender and considered the best international practice).

Arman Tatoyan mentioned the practice of the Human Rights Defender of presenting the independent evaluations of execution of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights to the Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, as well as the training courses for the Office of the Human Rights Defender and other bodies and the wide public awareness programs.
