Armenia’s authorities, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in particular, have adopted a "pointless" campaign style [for the upcoming referendum on constitutional amendments], with the consequence of tearing the booklet apart and refusing to take them. Political scientist Gagik Hambaryan wrote this on Facebook.

"I was not surprised when I saw yesterday (...) how after the Gyumri campaign, when people were simply forcibly given 'yes' leaflets without asking for their opinion, some of them appeared in the trash cans of Vardanants Square," he added, in particular. “And the reason is very simple: those who are campaigning [for YES in the referendum] themselves do not know at all why the constitution should be amended."
