YEREVAN. – The soil on the side fell on them while installing the pipe. Harutyun Antonyan, a friend of the father of Gagik Gh., 38, who died in a tragic incident in Yerevan yesterday, told this to reporters.

According to him, the two who died in this incident were residents of Yerevan, but he only knew Gagik. "[His] kids are triplets," he added.

According to him, it is clear that the incident happened at the final point of installation.

Gagik's relatives told reporters that they do not know when the incident happened, nor do they know who called the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

As reported earlier, soil had collapsed near a ditch that was dug at an intersection to install a water pipe, and workers Garegin M. (born in 1968) and Gagik Gh. (born in 1982) ended up in the ditch and under the soil.

Rescuers retrieved their dead bodies from under the soil.
