Former Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan has founded a new political party. Babacan, who held the positions of Deputy Prime Minister, economy minister and foreign minister between 2002 and 2015, has officially registered his political party at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports Anadolu.
Earlier, former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had also founded a political party.
Both politicians, who used to be Erdogan’s close allies, criticized the new presidential system that entered into force in 2018. Now they support the return of parliamentary system and Turkey’s democratization.
