US President Donald Trump has not been tested for coronavirus despite being in close contact with multiple lawmakers who are now self-quarantining due to their proximity to someone with the virus, the White House said late Monday, CNN reported.

"The President has not received COVID-19 testing because he has neither had prolonged close contact with any known confirmed COVID-19 patients, nor does he have any symptoms,” said White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham. “President Trump remains in excellent health, and his physician will continue to closely monitor him."

Earlier in the day, Vice President Mike Pence also said that he has not been screened for the coronavirus, later adding that there has been "no recommendation" that he be tested.
