The US is discussing with its NATO allies what they can offer Turkey in terms of military aid in Idlib and discussing measures that may be taken if Russia and the Syrian government breaks a ceasefire, James Jeffrey, the US special envoy for Syria, told reporters.

“We are looking at what NATO can do,” Reuters reported quoting him. “Everything is on table.”

Jeffrey ruled out the use of ground forces if a ceasefire is violated and reiterated that Ankara needed to clarify its position regarding the purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system.
