Iran maintains technical cooperation with the IAEA and is not required to respond to its false statements of concern, Mehr reported referring to the Iranian MFA spokesperson. 

“The framework of our cooperation with the Agency is clear, but the Agency must also consider its reputation and credibility,” said Abbas Mousavi. “Any absurd claim made by any regime or individual should not be the basis of the Agency's questions.”

IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi has earlier repeated his past claim that Iran has been blocking the agency’s access to two of three locations about which “the agency has identified a number of questions related to possible undeclared nuclear material and nuclear-related activities.”

Confirming Iran’s full cooperation with the IAEA, Mousavi noted the IAEA’s concern over these facilities, which have nothing to do with Iran’s nuclear program, stems from false reports of spy agencies.

He noted that Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif has discussed the latest IAEA report on Iran’s nuclear activities and explained the country’s position in a phone talk with the EU FM Josep Borrell.

“Whenever the Europeans take practical steps to fulfill their obligations, Iran will go back to its previous commitments.”
