By the order of Minister of Defense of Armenia Davit Tonoyan, Shushan Stepanyan has been appointed Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, as reported the Ministry of Defense.

Shushan Stepanyan graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Yerevan State University. She has worked for Hetq electronic newspaper as an investigative journalist. Since 2009, she has been working for as a correspondent turned editor turned head of department of the Unit for Military-Political Information and Ideology of Servicemen of the “Hye Zinvor” (Armenian Soldier) newspaper of the Ministry of Defense. Since 2019, she has been serving in the Armed Forces of Armenia. She has also been granted medals and certificates.

Her father, Shahen Stepanyan, was an active veteran of the Nagorno-Karabakh war and was posthumously awarded the Combat Cross 2nd degree order of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic).
