The 28-year-old man who arrested in the March 5 murder case in Gyumri had again beaten 43-year-old Marine in 2016, she had petitioned to the police, a criminal case was opened, but the parties settled, and the case was dropped. Shirak Province Prosecutor Karen Gabrielyan told this to reporters.

The provincial prosecutor said the 28-year-old man was registered at the Gyumri mental health center, and he was previously convicted four times.

Gabrielyan also did not exclude that after the investigation, the Criminal Code article under which this man is charged may be changed. "If it is found that the person has frequently beaten the woman, they will also consider the circumstance of torture," he said.

"First, the woman was beaten, the girl defended her mother, and as a result, the girl was also beaten," he added. "The woman was beaten because of jealousy."

Gabrielyan said the 28-year-old man not only refuses to testify, but also refuses to give a blood sample.

The man does not accept the charges against him. He has been charged with intentionally causing serious harm to the health of two or more persons, and negligently causing death of the victim.

On March 5, this man in Gyumri severely beat a 13-year-old girl and her mother, the latter died while the girl suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital in Yerevan.
