Upon mutual consent, Armenia and Georgia have decided to temporarily suspend movement of their citizens for 10 days, starting at 8 a.m. on March 14. This is what Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan wrote on his Facebook page.

At the same time, the two countries will ensure free entry of citizens who wish to return to Armenia or Georgia.

The restrictions apply to all types of transportation, except for cargo transportation.

The countries apologize to everyone for the inconvenience. I am certain that everyone realizes that the countries are taking these steps to exclusively ensure public safety,” Avinyan wrote.
