YEREVAN. – An alarming spread of coronavirus in Armenia in recent days requires vigilance from all of us, ex-director of the National Security Council Arthur Vanetsyan said.

“Attempts to get ‘cheap’ dividends or inappropriate simplification of the situation and inability to take responsibility are equally dangerous,” he wrote on Instagram.

Vanetsyan believes it is clear that a pandemic will lead to social and economic as well as psychological problems.

“In this difficult situation, when national, physical, economic, financial, domestic security is at risk, we need to be united, not to panic, and all actions should be coordinated with the decisions and calls of the relevant structures.

At the same time, events have clearly shown the reality that uncoordinated actions in the sphere of management and spontaneous solutions lead to problems that could threaten national security.

Unfortunately, the negative consequences of the lack of skills and experience in crisis management are already visible. Now when the issues of security of the population and the state are number one priority, I call to unite around the state, and I call on the authorities to finally come to your senses and perform your duties in responsible manner,” Vanetsyan said.
