Austrian embassies and consulates are suspending issuance of visas all over the world to fight coronavirus spread, foreign ministry said in a statement.
The new measure will curb coronavirus by avoiding unnecessary trips, the ministry said. The exception are applications from relatives of Austrian nationals or EU citizens.
Austrian authorities banned public gatherings until April. Educational facilities will not work until April 12.
The country reported 602 confirmed cases of coronavirus, one of the patients died and six recovered.
