YEREVAN. – Due to the tense epidemiological situation caused by the spread of coronavirus in a number of countries, today I have decided to ban the citizens of 16 countries from entering the Republic of Armenia. And the citizens of the Republic of Armenia returning from those countries must undergo a 14-day quarantine regime.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, who also heads the coronavirus prevention activities in the country,  wrote this on Facebook on Tuesday, and presented these countries, which are: China, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UK.

“[But] the entry into Armenia of a driver and one alternate driver of a vehicle carrying out cargo transportation from those countries will not be restricted,” Avinyan added. “In addition, all our citizens returning from foreign trips must self-quarantine for a 14-day period. If symptoms of illness occur during self-quarantine, immediate contact should be made by way of the 060 838300 hotline."
