YEREVAN. – As of March 17, the U.S. Embassy in Armenia has suspended interviews on nonimmigrant visa applications, the embassy said in response to an enquiry by Hraparak newspaper.
However, the embassy said they are trying to re-launch visa services as soon as possible, although did not provide exact dates.
Asked about measures to prevent infection, the embassy said they are implementing a number of measures to follow CDC and WHO guidance for basic protective measures against COVID-19. These measures include refraining from participating in or hosting large events, practicing social distancing through telework options for some employees, reducing the number of visitors to the embassy compound, and increasing personal hygiene measures, such as frequent handwashing.
Taking into account the global spread of novel coronavirus infection, the embassy is taking precautions related to the travel of employees.
