YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that uncertainty created by coronavirus outbreak will open up new opportunities for Armenia.

“We do not have to treat everything as a tragedy. Thanks God, we do not have victims, and I hope we wouldn’t. We should look at this as to an opportunity to strengthen the position of Armenia in the economic, political and in all respects, to build a new level of welfare in the country. I hope this does not sound cynical, but I really hope that the economic revolution that we were speaking about is at a zero point now. This is an impulse, the time for the economic revolution has really come,” he said in an interview with Shant television.

Pashinyan pointed to uncertainty in global economy, as no one knows what will happen in five or six months.

“No one knows how this will impact economic and consumer behavior. The world we had in January would never exist. The world would be completely different, and there is great uncertainty about consumer behavior,” he added.
