US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived on Monday to Afghanistan on a previously unannounced visit, Reuters reported.
According to the source, Pompeo is in Kabul, where he plans to meet with President Ashraf Ghani and his political rival Abdullah Abdullah who also claims he is president.
The purpose of his visit is to facilitate talks on the exchange of prisoners between the Afghan government and the Taliban radical movement.
