The Somali authorities confirmed on Sunday a second death from COVID-19, Middle East Monitor reported.
“Khalif Mumin Tohow, justice minister of Hirshabelle state, succumbed to the novel coronavirus in Mogadishu’s Martini hospital a day after he tested positive in the town of Jowhar, the administrative capital of Hirshabelle,” the source noted.
Vice president of Hirshabelle Ali Gudlawe Hussein confirmed his death to the media.
Local media write that the late minister visited the UK in February.
