Dallas has declared a state of disaster amid the ongoing riots after the murder of African American George Floyd.

The corresponding decree was signed and posted on Twitter by Mayor Eric Johnson.

"I have issued a Proclamation Declaring a Local State of Disaster in Dallas to help the City address the criminal looting, vandalism, and violence we have seen in our Central Business District and the surrounding areas," he tweeted.
