US President Donald Trump believes that Washington was "the safest place on earth last night."
According to city police, one police car was burned on Monday, two law enforcement officers were injured, about 300 people were detained.
Security measures have been tightened in Washington. Police dispersed the protesters near the White House about half an hour before the curfew, and President Donald Trump went outside the White House fence and visited the church that the protesters tried to burn. Trump said he respects peaceful protests but will suppress riots.
