The anti-Armenian demonstrations of Turkish organizations lasted only a couple of hours, but now there is an information attack on social networks, along with anti-Armenian statements. This is what Editor-in-Chief of Lebanon’s Aztag Armenian Daily Shahan Kandaharian told Armenian News-NEWS.am, adding that all this is targeted at the formation of a group of lawyers who will file a lawsuit.
“There will be a relevant statement tomorrow. There is no threat against the Armenian community. The country’s political parties have already condemned the actions in regard to attempts to split the public on the basis of religion,” he stated.
Shahan Kandaharian stated that this is being done by organizations that overtly serve Ankara’s interests and that the events have also sparked reactions in Egypt and Syria since nobody is optimistic about the strengthening of Turkey’s influence in the region.
Earlier, mass media outlets had reported that the anti-Armenian demonstrations in Beirut began after there was criticism against Ankara’s aggressive foreign policy during a TV show hosted by an Armenian. The protests began after the audience offended the host.
