YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) opposition Prosperous Armenia faction member, NA Vice President Vahe Enfiajyan began his speech Tuesday in the NA by raising a banner that read, "You will not keep [us] silent," and stated: "We will not keep silent and you cannot keep [us] silent; it's impossible."

As reported earlier, the parliament is debating on the prosecutor general’s petition to strip parliamentary opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan of his parliamentary immunity in order to launch criminal proceedings against him, and take Tsarukyan into custody.

"You have already passed the allowable threshold. Each of you must come understand that he is faced with a great choice: to really define in the Republic of Armenia the points of the principles promised by the new Armenia, or to follow the path that existed before. (…), Today you are encroaching upon the institution of the NA MP,” Enfiajyan added, in particular.

He stressed that the NA lawmakers have been given the authority today not to be silent, and to voice issues.

The parliament deputy speaker noted that there is no testimony against Gagik Tsarukyan's person, no questioning, no face-to-face encounter was conducted, and this is a fabricated case.

Also, Vahe Enfiajyan called on the majority My Step faction to think and act clear-headedly because everything has its own time and logic.
