YEREVAN. – As of this morning, 143 people need to be hospitalized, 25 of whom are at home. Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

"Nine of them are in mild condition but need hospitalization, 16 of them—in moderate condition. Fortunately, at the moment we do not have at home citizens with oxygen content of 80 and below, who are considered to be in severe condition.

However, we have many citizens who are in other medical centers where there is no specialized treatment for the coronavirus disease, and they need to be transferred to specialized hospitals. This number fluctuates during the day; we have had up to 200 or less in recent days, but there is no trend to decrease," he said

The minister noted that although there is a positive change in terms of trends, the situation is not good in terms of absolute numbers.

"We already have 263 ICU beds provided for the coronavirus alone. Two weeks ago they were 200, but, all the same, there are no free spaces.

At the moment, we have 444 citizens in severe condition, 131—in critical condition, 39 of whom are hooked up to ventilators,” Torosyan added.
