The international affairs committee of the presidency of the Supreme Council of Yedinaya Rossiya (United Russia) Party is concerned about the current events surrounding the friendly Prosperous Armenia Party and its leader Gagik Tsarukyan in Yerevan.

“Since 2008, Yedinaya Rossiya Party and Prosperous Armenia Party have been successfully cooperating on the basis of a mutual agreement and for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Armenia.

Respecting the principle of non-interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign states, Yedinaya Rossiya Party voices hope that the situation surrounding Prosperous Armenia Party and its leader Gagik Tsarukyan will be solved in strict observance of the law and with respect towards political pluralism and the freedom of public activities.

It is the understanding of Yedinaya Rossiya Party that the political competition peculiar to democratic states will not proceed through unlawful methods, and we wish that our Armenian colleagues quickly settle the conflict which has become resonant far beyond the Republic of Armenia,” the statement reads.
